Courses and workshops at Lund Gallery 2010:
Lund Gallery will be hosting a series of select courses and workshops during 2010. All the tutors are professional artists and makers, with several exhibiting their work at the gallery. Where possible the timing of the courses have been arranged so that the tutor's work will be featuring at the gallery.

Wire sculpture with Celia Smith

Celia’s wire sculptures of birds, often described as ‘drawing with wire’ are hugely popular. Join Celia to discover some of the secrets of her craft. Due to popular demand Celia is returning to Lund Gallery in November to run a second course. All materials provided. There may be an additional charge for materials used.

Stonecarving with Dominic Hopkinson

Following the success of last years workshops Dominic returns to Lund with a series of weekends working with stone. Open to beginners, improvers or perhaps you just fancy working in a group environment for inspiration. All courses include materials and equipment is supplied. recently participated in a sculpture symposium in Muenster, part of the Skulptur Projekt 2007. He has worked with a number of major sculptors since graduating in 1991 and currently teaches part time at York College. His work is held in both private and public collections across the country.

Drawing from the landscape. Debbie Loane

In this 2 day workshop is aimed at encouraging you to broaden the scope of your mark making skills and to approach the landscape with a more subjective and innovative eye. Debbie will spend time demonstrating some of the techniques and alternative drawing materials that she uses in her own work and students will be encouraged to be experimental and to challenge their own ways of working and thinking. The weekend will involve some time out in landscape gathering information, so bring wet weather gear just in case!

Woodcut printmaking – weekend with Jo McChesney.

Jo will demonstrate her unique method which involves working on ply boards hand burnishing onto delicate japanse paper. You will work on your own block producing an A3 print. All equipment and tools supplied.

Collagraph Printmaking workshop with Peter Wray

Peter is well known as an expert in this subject . This a rare chance to attend his popular courses in the north of England and to learn some of his innovative techniques.

Debbie Loane Studio sessions.
In addition to weekend courses Debbie is also available to teach individuals or small groups in her own studio. This is an opportunity to come and make work in a relaxed and creative environment without the formal structure of the courses. Please contact the gallery for more details.

All course fees(apart from Stonecarving courses) include a fabulous Yorkshire foody lunch supplied by Fine Foods of Yorkshire, Easingwold (listed as being one of the Top Three Delis in the UK by The Independent!).
