Easingwold and surrounding area
Easingwold is a beautiful Georgian market town just 20 minutes north of York, just outside the North York Moors National Park.
If you don't know the area it is well worth a visit; there are many interesting things to see and do: The White Horse of Kilburn; 'The Mouseman' of Kilburn; Shandy Hall in Coxwold; Sutton Park; The Herriot Musuem in Thirsk to mention just a few of the local attractions.
And if you are looking for a bite to eat, The Durham Ox in Crayke (4 miles from the Gallery), The New Inn in Tholthorpe (5 miles) have gained well deserved high reputation. Alternatively, there are several cafés, coffee shops and pubs in Easingwold, including the award winning Tea-Hee in the centre of the market place, and The Curious Table - popular with cyclists.
There is a thriving art scene in North Yorkshire. If you are travelling to the area to visit the Lund Gallery, here is a selection of other galleries that are worth visiting (the list is not exhaustive, and is in no particular order!):
